Bajaj Insurance launches ‘Fetal Flourish’

Pune: Bajaj General Insurance Limited (formerly Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited), one of India’s leading private general insurers, has launched ‘Fetal Flourish’, a first-of-its-kind insurance rider designed exclusively to support fetal health and high-risk pregnancies. The innovative rider offers financial coverage for advanced in-utero medical procedures, an area traditionally not covered under standard maternity insurance plans.
The Fetal Flourish rider is available as an add-on to the insurer’s flagship health products — My Health Care Plan and Health Guard. By extending coverage to the unborn child during the most critical stages of pregnancy, the rider addresses a long-standing gap in prenatal healthcare financing.
Unlike conventional maternity insurance, which largely focuses on childbirth and postnatal care, Fetal Flourish prioritises protection inside the womb, covering complex and specialised procedures such as amniocentesis, fetal reduction, fetoscopic laser surgery and intrauterine transfusions.
